I bought a $3 caramel ice-blended from Coffee Bean today. I was tired and it helped. But still. That's not the model of fiscal discipline. No more coffee this week.

Also, I'm going to my first professional conference Sunday-Tuesday. There are some very accomplished people attending: deans of j-schools, editors of metro newspapers, someone from nytimes.com and me. I feel a bit like the kid with his first invite to the adults' table at Thanksgiving.
